Treasure Island will be the first property on the Las Vegas Strip to feature a hotel managed by Accor. The French global hospitality firm revealed the collaboration on Wednesday morning with Phil Ruffin, the owner of Treasure Island.
Now known as a Radisson Hotel, the 2,884-key property that Steve Wynn opened in 1993 will transition to Treasure Island — TI Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, Handwritten Collection, later this year, per the franchise agreement.
"Treasure Island has long held a special place in the story of Las Vegas, and I am certain that Accor and Handwritten Collection will further enrich its legacy and attract new generations of guests and visitors,” said Ruffin in a statement. “This next chapter brings new energy to the resort while preserving its unmistakable spirit.”
The agreement encompasses support for the Handwritten Collection brand along with Accor’s comprehensive services, such as sales and marketing, distribution, and loyalty (the ALL Accor loyalty program).
Treasure Island will be just the second Handwritten Collection property in the US—following Stratford San Francisco, which joined last year—and will add to over 25 current Handwritten Collection hotels and more than 35 planned ones.
“We are incredibly proud to partner with Mr. Ruffin and confident that together we can create a bigger and bolder future for this iconic hotel now that it sits within the Handwritten Collection portfolio and part of the Accor network,” Accor global chief development officer Camil Yazbeck said in a statement.
Treasure Island boasts a 90,000-square-foot gaming area and over a dozen bars, lounges, and dining options, such as Phil’s Steak House, Golden Circle Sports Bar, and Gilley’s Saloon.
Accor S.A. is Europe's leading hospitality firm and ranks sixth globally, managing more than 5,600 hotels in over 110 countries with brands such as Raffles, Fairmont, Sofitel, and Novotel. Based in Issy-les-Moulineaux, France, Accor also manages digital hospitality services and event planning, emphasizing sustainability and a range of options from economical to high-end.
